OTJ Architects partnered with the client to develop contemporary, functional workspace solutions that celebrate the client brand, promote collaboration, and maximize daylight. This relocation provides a growing team with a forward-thinking environment for both innovation and client engagement. OTJ was retained to deliver the client’s Boston workplace as well.

The design process was shaped by the client’s commitment to inclusivity and sustainability - values that align with OTJ’s own focus on the development of highly functional, people-centric, environments. Our team was called upon to create an open, agile workspace both suited to the needs of a growing workforce and representative of a dynamic brand. The design expands upon the program of the firm’s previous office to incorporate additional collaborative areas and private spaces for focused work while the layout balances acoustical privacy and technology integration to enhance functionality and employee engagement.

Located on the 45th floor of a class AA landmark building, the space presented challenges such as angled windows that required careful design coordination. To meet the client’s programmatic and aesthetic requirements, OTJ expanded private offices and workstations, using partitions with rich wood finishes to maintain openness while providing separation. Unexpected demolition issues required the reconfiguration of the reception area, which OTJ addressed by seamless integrating solutions into the desk design to preserve the space’s uninterrupted flow. Our team worked with an acoustician to ensure soundproofing, especially in interview rooms and conference spaces. The boardroom, complete with floor-to-ceiling glass partitions, maximizes natural light, while open collaboration zones foster dynamic interaction among employees.
