Randa Apparel & Accessories

Established over 100 years ago, Randa Apparel and Accessories holds mass appeal with the American public. The company is comprised of a diverse portfolio of brands including popular men’s clothing manufacturer, Haggar. Based in Farmer’s Branch, Texas, Randa is defined by a culture rooted in a commitment to quality and the open exchange of ideas. Randa selected OTJ Architects to design a new office space that supports this culture, promotes the company’s evolving family of brands, optimizes space utilization, and enhances the employee and visitor experience to draw in guests and drive a return to the office.

Our design concept, Woven Wonder, anchors the project’s aesthetics in tactile references to the craftsmanship and artistry of textiles. Both high-performing and visually sophisticated, our solution celebrates both the Randa and Haggar brands in their totality by placing such classics as the NFL Hall of Fame’s “Gold Jacket” front and center. The floorplan, in turn, was meticulously laid out to maximize spatial efficiency by balancing work and collaboration zones with a strong emphasis on the company’s place in the fashion industry.

Strategic design gestures abound. Upon entering, guests are immediately drawn to the front-of-house ceiling that echoes the patterns of woven textiles. A generously apportioned work café is supported by a discreet catering kitchen while flexible workstations, diversified collaborative areas, storage space, legal libraries, and showroom environments are seamlessly integrated throughout, offering tailor made solutions to a variety of work, merchandise design, and sales needs. The showroom itself, designed to mirror the brand’s retail experience, immerses visitors in Randa’s brand story, prompting a connection between buyers and the value inherent in the company’s product.

Light wood tones and black metal accents interspersed at key intervals throughout the space further underscore Haggar’s established identity. A felt baffle ceiling with crisscrossing recessed track lighting encourages movement through the floorplate. White light on black tracks emulates intricately woven threads. Meanwhile, artful banding on glass office fronts evokes the “feather stitch.” The design, which incorporates energy-efficient solutions and sustainable materials, results in a dynamic, inspiring space that captures the essence of Randa’s legacy while keeping eyes firmly set on the future of the organization.
