Senior Principal Kevin Sneed Inducted into IIDA College of Fellows

OTJ is proud to announce that Senior Principal and Senior Director of Architecture Kevin Sneed, FAIA, LEED AP BD+C, CSI, CDT has been elevated to the IIDA College of Fellows.

Induction into the College of Fellows honors a member’s achievements and contributions to the profession and represents the highest, most prestigious recognition IIDA bestows.

“We applaud and welcome these leading minds of the profession into the College of Fellows,” said College of Fellows Chair, Viveca Bissonnette, FIIDA. “This year, and every year, inductees of this prestigious honor are passionate advocates and leaders with a commitment to the values of the association and exemplify a confident, inclusive outlook for designers of tomorrow.”

IIDA is an international commercial interior design association. IIDA supports design professionals, industry affiliates, educators, students, firms, and their clients through a global network of members across 58 countries. IIDA advocates for advancements in education, design excellence, legislation, leadership, accreditation, and community outreach to increase the value and understanding of interior design as a profession that enhances business value and positively impacts the health and well- being of people’s lives every day.

Viveca Bissonnette, FIIDA College of Fellows Chair IIDA

Inductees are IIDA members who demonstrate outstanding professional achievements and exceptional leadership in the interior design community and who have made extraordinary contributions to our industry. Candidates must also exemplify the highest level of ethical conduct, leadership, and professionalism. Kevin holds the distinction of being one of only twenty accomplished professionals in the architecture and interior design fields to be both a Fellow with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Notably, he is also the first African American male to be honored by the IIDA College of Fellows.

Kevin’s expertise has contributed to the success of some of OTJ’s most complex and award-winning workplace designs including such projects as the headquarters of Sands Capital Management and the American Petroleum Institute (API), workplaces for leading legal practices such as Axinn and Orrick, as well as the offices of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

Kevin serves on the Maryland State Board of Architects and has been a recipient of the Award of Distinguished Achievement from the Virginia chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Kevin is a frequent guest lecturer at the George Washington University School of Interior Architecture and Design and was a contributing author of the book Becoming an Architect: A Guide to Careers in Design.
